چکیده
We consider a sensor network, which in the presence of a rogue sensor, is tasked with estimating emitter location under the time difference of arrival (TDOA) method. The rogue seeks to maximally degrade estimation accuracy by injecting a single false report of sensor position. Our closed form solution gives a set of false positions that minimize the network’s Fisher Information Matrix (FIM). We find that the rogue sensor should report a false position along the vector pointing from the emitter to its valid paired sensor. Further, a method for finding the false location that not only minimizes the FIM but is also robust to the location network’s ability to detect and reject erroneous TDOA measurements is developed.

The Acld: Speech-based Just-in-time Retrieval of Multimedia Documents and Websites
The Automatic Content Linking Device (ACLD) is a justin-time retrieval system that monitors an ongoing conversation or a monologue and enriches it with potentially related documents, including transcripts of past meetings, from local repositories or from the Internet. The linked content is displayed in real-time to the participants in the conversation, or to users watching a recorded conversati...
متن کاملA New Word-Intersection Clustering Method for Information Filtering
As the use of the web grows globally and exponentially, it becomes increasingly harder for users to find the information they want. Therefore, there is a need for good information filtering mechanisms. This paper presents a new, efficient information filtering method using word clusters. Traditional filtering methods only consider the relevance values of document. As a result, these conventiona...
متن کاملIterative Expectation for Multi Period Information Retrieval
Many Information Retrieval (IR) models make use of offline statistical techniques to score documents for ranking over a single period, rather than use an online, dynamic system that is responsive to users over time. In this paper, we explicitly formulate a general Multi Period Information Retrieval problem, where we consider retrieval as a stochastic yet controllable process. The ranking action...
متن کاملPeer-to-peer collaboration over XML documents
Existing solutions for the collaboration over XML documents are limited to a centralised architecture. In this paper we propose an approach for peer-to-peer collaboration over XML documents where users can work off-line on their document replica and synchronise in an ad-hoc manner with other users. Our algorithm for maintaining consistency over XML documents recursively applies the tombstone op...
متن کاملAutomata Modeling for Cognitive Interference in Users' Relevance Judgment
Quantum theory has recently been employed to further advance the theory of information retrieval (IR). A challenging research topic is to investigate the so called quantum-like interference in users’ relevance judgment process, where users are involved to judge the relevance degree of each document with respect to a given query. In this process, users’ relevance judgment for the current documen...
